Hero Strategy
Use Scream of Pain to secure ranged creeps and hit opponents at the same time.
Avoid overinvesting points in Shadow Strike. It will make your farming and midgame fights hard.
When in trouble, blink into fog, into treelines or over cliffs.
Look around for opportunities to gank once you have Sonic Wave and control runes.
Blink or position yourself in such a way that you land a multi-hero Sonic Wave in the fights.
When not much is happening, push out the sidelines.
Pick up Aghanim's Shard around minute 15 as it provides silence and extra damage. Using it on creep waves also gives you instant wave clear when paired with Scream of Pain.
Aghanims scepter is very strong in teamfights. Try to get it at an early timing.
Counter Strategy
Queen of Pain's Shadow Strike is a great harassing spell. Buy extra consumables or dodge it if your hero has a spell that can.
Look to play aggressively on Queen of Pain once her Blink is on cooldown. She's very squishy.
Control power runes against Queen of Pain. She likes to bottle and gank with those.
Be aware of Queen of Pain's Orchid Malevolence timing. She can solo kill most of the heroes with it.
Avoid fighting in choke spots and clumping up against Queen of Pain's Sonic Wave.
Spell immunity and magic resistance items are quite good against Queen of Pain.
